Hugh T. McDonald was named president and chief executive officer of Entergy Arkansas, Inc. on June 1, 2000.
Hugh joined Entergy in 1982 as an engineer at Waterford 3 nuclear generating plant in Louisiana. Since then he has held various management positions in the distribution, transmission, customer service, retail marketing and regulatory business functions in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Arkansas.
Hugh is a past Board member of the United States Chamber of Commerce and past Board Chair of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Arkansas Research Alliance. He also serves as Board Chair of Fifty for the Future and serves on the Sam Walton College of Business Advisory Board and the UALR College of Business Advisory Council.
Hugh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from North Dakota State University, 1980; and earned his MBA degree from the University of New Orleans in 1987.
Hugh and his wife, Michelle, have 3 children.
