Tawana Bailey
East Arkansas Family Health Center
Tawana Bailey serves as the Director of Development for East Arkansas Family Health Center (EAFHC). She is a native of Pine Bluff, AR. Ms. Bailey graduated in the 2006 with her Bachelor’s of Science in Communications and a minor in Criminal Justice from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro.
In her current role, Tawana works to develop and implement marketing and public relations plans, with a goal of increasing the centers visibility in the communities it serves. In addition, she conceptualizes, develops, and facilitates the implementation of projects related to community relations and promotes the long-term growth of EAFHC.
She is working hard to create a culture of advocacy for EAFHC. Community Health Centers are health care homes that make up the backbone of our nation’s primary care system. Tawana is dedicated to telling their story.
Prior to joining East Arkansas Family Health Center, Tawana worked and Director of Community Outreach for the City of West Memphis. She implemented two major initiatives: Park & Walk, in which officers were told to engage in a positive way with citizens, and #9pmRoutine, which encouraged citizens to lock their vehicles to curtail break-ins. Because of her dedication to this project, she was named the 2019 City Employee of the Year and helped her city land the 2021 Arkansas Trendsetter Award for the category of Public Safety. Because of her collaboration efforts, the City was also named 2021 Volunteer Community of the Year.
Outside of work, Tawana serves as the President of the West Memphis Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. President of the Good Neighbor Love Center and she is a Girl Scout Troop Leader. In all roles, Tawana displays compassion and the will to serve.
