Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield
Mark White began his career with Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1970 as a staff accountant and worked in several roles within the Provider Audit and Finance areas before being named manager of Provider Reimbursement.
White left the Plan for a short time and returned in 1984 as controller of the Life Insurance Company of Arkansas, currently known as USAble Life. In 1986, he assumed the duties of vice president of Finance for the Plan, was later promoted to senior vice president of Finance and subsequently promoted to executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.
In 1993 he was named president and chief executive officer of USAble Corporation. White became president of Arkansas Blue Cross in January of 2009. He is the former chairman of the Arkansas Life and Disability Insurance Guaranty Association and the former vice chairman of the Arkansas Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool.
White serves on the boards of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, USAble Corporation, HMO Partners, Inc., Life and Specialty Ventures, LLC, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, BCS Financial Corporation, Plans’ Liability Insurance Company, National Institute for Health Care Management, Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Fifty for the Future.
White received his bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Hendrix College in Conway. He received his CPA designation in 1972, and in 2002, completed the Kellogg School of Management Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University.
