Troy Keeping is Regional General Manager for Delaware North, as well as President & General Manager of Southland Park Gaming & Racing in West Memphis, Arkansas. Keeping joined Delaware North in May of 2007. In his current position, he is responsible for the overall daily operation and management of Southland Park Gaming & Racing, and DNC’s Daytona and Phoenix operations. Southland Park features over 1500 slot machines, table games, a greyhound race track and multiple restaurant operations. Daytona features live greyhound racing and simulcast racing as well as one of Florida’s premier poker rooms. Phoenix features simulcast racing and several off- track betting sites, including Max’s Sports Bar.
Keeping has over twenty-five years of hospitality and gaming industry experience. Prior to joining Delaware North, he served as Vice President and General Manager for Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana. Before that he held executive positions with Horseshoe Gaming Holding Crop, and Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. in Biloxi, Mississippi, Black Hawk, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada. He has worked directly for several of the industry legends, including Sam and Bill Boyd, Dean Petersen, Bernie Goldstein, Jack Binion and Don Barden.
Keeping was a key member of the executive management team that opened several of the Isle of Capri’s casinos during their rapid growth in the 1990’s. He was a key member of the executive team that opened the Isle’s Black Hawk in 1998, setting company profit records. At Majestic, he implemented service standards and a revamped marketing program that guided a financial revival that saw the casino set revenue and profitability records in 2004 and 2005 while increasing its market share. At Southland Park, Keeping has led another successful turnaround, setting unprecedented property and company profit records.
In addition to his company leadership, Keeping has always been an avid community activist. He currently serves or has served on several boards and commissions, including Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce (Vice Chairman), West Memphis Chamber of Commerce (Past President), Crittenden Regional Hospital Foundation (Chairman), Mid-South Community College Foundation (Vice Chairman), West Memphis Advertising and Promotions Commission, the Arkansas Teacher Housing Development Foundation, the Arkansas Travel Council (Secretary), Mid South AID Fund (Chairman) and Rotary International. He also serves on the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce Chairman's Circle. He is a graduate of Leadership Arkansas. In Gary, he served on the boards of America’s Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. In Colorado he served as Treasurer of the City of Black Hawk’s Business Improvement District.
His professional affiliations have included the Casino Association of Indiana and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has received several awards, including the prestigious Silver Cup in 2012 from the Arkansas Hospitality Association for his contributions to Arkansas Tourism. He was also awarded the CEO of the Year in 2014 by Memphis Business Quarterly.
Keeping holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a Certified Internal Auditor. He is married to Maryann (Ruthe) Keeping (26 years) and has one daughter, Laurel Keeping, who is an ICU Nurse at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas
